Pallekele: Team India captain Virat Kohli’s fitness is impeccable and that is the reason why the skipper wants his team to be fittest in the world. In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday, the macho right-hander was seen sweating it out during the work-out session in the gym.

The video shows Kohli getting valuable tips from his strength and fitness coach Shankar Basu. Basu returned to Team India before the recently-concluded ICC Champions trophy in June.

Kohli’s stern fitness standards have also set an example for his teammates to be at their peak. Previously, star players of Team India like Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya also showed how they are going toe-to-toe with the Indian skipper.

Fitness levels for the Men in Blue improved ever since Basu joined the side in 2015. He introduced latest methods such as Dexa Scan, load monitoring app and the Yo-Yo test that has helped to keep the team in good shape.
