Nottingham: In a friendly gesture by Virat Kohli, the Team India captain on Wednesday gifted his Man of the Match champagne bottle to head coach Ravi Shastri following the team’s 203-run win against England in the third Test at Trent Bridge here.

According to The Indian Express, Kohli wanted to thank the coach for backing him and this was how he decided to do the same.

Kohli won the Man of the Match award for his knocks of 97 runs and 103 runs in the first and second innings respectively. This was India’s first win in the Test series and fought back in five-match series, making it 2-1.

Well, the story does not end there. The dressing room attendants earlier on Wednesday had got crates of beer as the visitors were on the verge of a win that would keep them alive in the series. While some of the support staff joined in, they as well as the attendants had asked the players if they would join in. However, the Indian players admitted that this was just a Test match win, and that they would celebrate if they clinch the entire series.

Both the teams now travel to Southampton where the visitors will hope to level the series in the fourth Test starting on August 30.
