HYDERABAD: The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) on Thursday condemned what it called the “greedy attitude and lethargic approach” of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) and its president Mohammad Azharuddin which resulted in the stampede at the Gymkhana Grounds where tickets were being sold for the September 25 India versus Australia T-20 match.

TCA general secretary Dharam Guruva Reddy, in a press statement, said, “It is a very simple task to sell tickets online with full transparency. But Azharuddin has created a situation of chaos and illegally issued a letter overnight announcing the sale of tickets at Gymkhana Grounds without taking necessary precautions.”

He urged the Union home minister, BCCI as well as the ICC to initiate necessary investigation and said CBI should be assigned to investigate the incident.
