Mumbai: Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli lost his cool after selectors did not pick Shreyas Iyer, Aditya Tare, Siddhesh Lad – trio of Ranji trophy champions Mumbai – for four-match Test series in West Indies.

The left-hander batsman took to Twitter to slam the omission of the cricketers.

The Sandeep Patil-led selection panel picked the 17-man team to travel to West Indies in July for the Test series. The team has three Mumbai cricketers including Ajinkya Rahane, who is promoted to vice-captain’s position, Rohit Sharma and uncapped Shardul Thakur.

However, Kambli did not seem too pleased with the choices selectors made. Kambli said, “Tare, Iyer and Lad should have been given a chance as they have done well in domestic cricket.”

Kambli also questioned the inclusion of Cheteshwar Pujara, Wriddhiman Saha and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja in the Test team.

The former Mumbai cricketer also accused selectors of destroying careers.
