India coach: Will it be Virat Kohli pick Ravi Shastri?
Shastri, the former Team Director and reported to be Kohli's only choice for the post of coach, will be a strong contender.
Bengaluru: The rumble over the Virat Kohli-Anil Kumble falling out may have been overtaken by the new challenge in the West Indies – even if the match at Port of Spain rained out. But surprise, surprise, Captain Kohli may get his man. The Indian cricket board on Friday, surprisingly extended its date for seeking fresh applicants to pick the new head coach after the deadline ended on May 31. With only five candidates in the fray of which Virender Sehwag and Tom Moody are the front-runners, it is believed BCCI's move to seek more candidates could open the door for Ravi Shastri's throwing his hat in the ring.
Having previously not applied for the post, Shastri, the former Team Director and reported to be Kohli's only choice for the post of coach, will be a strong contender. The catch is the former all-rounder wants the BCCI to woo him! Mr. Shastri, whose contract wasn't renewed last time when only Sunil Gavaskar weighed in for him as opposed to Saurav Ganguly and VVS Laxman who plumped for Kumble, wants to be invited!
