Vipin, Vishal, Som, Noman, Manas top
Shazaib, Abdullah, Azeem, Vikas, Pavan and Prafull too do well in two-day league.
Hyderabad: K. Vikas Rao (Sri Chakra), G. Pavan Kumar (Medak District) and K. Prafull Kumar (WMCC) sizzled with centuries on a day dominated by bowlers in the Hyderabad Cricket Association two day league here on Tuesday.
While Vikas slammed 157 (194 balls), Pavan scored 100 (120 balls) and Prafull stroked his way to 112 (90 balls) as Vipin Choudhary (6/49 for New Blues), M. Somasekhar (5/34 for Sri Chakra), M. Vishal (6/34 for Rohit XI), Shazaib Khan (5/66 for Budding Star), Abdullah Qadri (5/15 for Budding Star), Mohd Noman (5/25 for CCOB), B. Manas (5/106 for Raju CC) and Azeemuddin (5/70 for Gouds XI) came good with the ball.
It was Vipin’s day as New Blues thumped Pasha Beedi by 172 runs to bag four points. Chasing, Blues’ 274, Pasha Beedi were struck by Vipin’s blows (16-4-49-6) as they could only muster 102 in 35.1 overs.
Riding on Vikas and Somasekhar’s performances, Sri Chakra walloped Nalgonda District by 195 runs to pocket four points. Batting first Sri Chakra scored 339 and Somasekhar returned with figures of 12-3-34-5 as Nalgonda were bundled out for just 140. G. Sampath Kumar gave Somasekhar support with a four-wicket haul.
Vishal was the star in Rohit XI’s two-wicket win as his six-wicket haul (24-9-34-6) was instrumental in bowling Sayi Satya out for 223. Chasing, Uday Singh and Ali Diamond smashed half-centuries as Rohit XI crossed the finish line with just two wickets to spare.
Budding Star’s Abdullah and Shazaib were the wreckers-in-chief as they accounted for all the ten Apex wickets returning with figures of 11-3-15-5 and 18-4-66-5 respectively. Chasing, Budding Star’s 383, Apex folded for just 134, handing Budding Star a mammoth 249-run win and four points.
Pavan’s 100 (120 balls, 13 fours and 1 six) took centrestage as Medak District put on 408 on the board in their innings against Gouds XI. Mohd Afridi Ahmed and Bilal Hussain supported Pavan with 89 runs each as Medak amassed a huge score. For Gouds, Azeemuddin returned with figures of 5/70 but wasn’t able to prevent his team succumbing to a 233-run defeat as Gouds could only muster 175, in reply.
Mohd Noman bowled CCOB to victory over Secunderabad Nawabs when he stole the show with a five-wicket haul. Batting first, CCOB scored 243 in its innings and riding on Noman’s show (10.3-1-25-5), CCOB bowled Secunderabad Nawabs for just 139, winning the match by 104 runs.
Manas was instrumental in Raju CC’s big win with figures of 5/106 as Raju CC beat WMCC by 171 runs. Chasing Raju’s mammoth 554, WMCC could only manage 383, with Prafull scoring 112 (90 balls, 9 fours and 1 six). Sadly, the centurion couldn’t prevent his team from a defeat as Raju CC pocketed four points.
In another intriguing match, Visaka and Jai Bhagwathi shared two points each after both the team managed to score exactly 123 in their innings.
