New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) national selectors are all set to announce the Indian team for the two-Test series at home against West Indies on Wednesday.

The Men in Blue will be playing a full-fledged series against the Caribbean side, which includes three Tests, five ODIs and three T20Is.

According to The Hindustan Times, permanent captain Virat Kohli will return to the roster while a decision on the injured R Ashwin is yet to be taken.

While Kohli was rested for the ongoing Asia Cup following a hectic tour to the United Kingdom, Ashwin had suffered a groin injury during the third Test against England in August.

Another selection conundrum will be to choose between the in-form Hanuma Vihari and Karun Nair.

While Karun last played a Test against Australia in 2017 during India’s home series, Hanuma Vihari not only scored a half-century in India’s final Test against England but also picked up three wickets in the same match.

The core of the Indian pace attack is set to be retained with Bhuvneshwar Kumar making a comeback after missing out on the England Tests due to injury.

He will join the familiar faces of Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami.
