The 7th Police Martyrs Memorial T-20 North Zone cricket championship was aimed at giving the youth of the area opportunities to exhibit their talent in sports and give shape to their future through nation-building activities.
Nearly sixteen teams drawn from
Indian Premier League and Ranji Trophy stars played in the championship and expressed their happiness over it being organised by the police.
One of the players, Abid Nabi, said, "We came to know about the latest techniques of playing on a turf pitch, as till now we were playing on mat pitches in Kashmir. Some Indian Premier League (IPL) and Ranji Trophy players came to play here and we gained better experience from them."
