Cape Town: India beat South Africa in a thrilling series decider at Cape Town on Saturday to win the three-match T20 series.

Being put in to bat first, the Men in Blue posted a commanding total of 172/7 on board, thanks to contributions from Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina at the top order.

But in the second innings, the hosts were rocked and kept losing wickets at crucial intervals, reeling at 79-3 after 13 overs.

But the Proteas soon found their feet after Suresh Raina gave away an expensive 14th over, where he went for 12 runs. After the Uttar Pradesh all-rounder was swept for a four at fine leg by Christiaan Jonker in the fourth ball of the over, MS Dhoni from behind the stumps tried to offer some valuable inputs to his Chennai Super Kings (CSK) teammate.

"Dande pe tez mat daalna. Dande pe tez mat daalna. Dande pe tez mat daalna (Don't bowl fast and straight into the stumps. Don't bowl fast and straight into the stumps. Don't bowl fast and straight into the stumps.)," Dhoni was caught saying on the stump mic thrice.

But Raina turned a deaf ear to the former India skipper and decided to go with his own decision. He bowled a darter towards the leg-stump and the consequence was the same – another boundary towards the leg side.

With JP Duminy and Jonker slowly taking away the game from the visitors, Rohit Sharma and co soon got rid of both the set batsmen to help India bounce back in the game and win the series.
