Watch: Ajinkya Rahane pulls off a stunner in slip cordon
Ajinkya Rahane plucked out a stunner to end the partnership between Peter Handscomb and Glenn Maxwell.
Dharamsala: India pacers gave the hosts a perfect start in the second innings of the fourth and final Test at Dharamsala as they reduced the Australians to 31/3.
The Kangaroos lost three important wickets including that of skipper Steve Smith while they still trailed India’s first innings total. They were bailed out of the situation by the batting duo of Peter Handscomb and Glenn Maxwell, who put up a 56-run stand for the fourth wicket.
Just when it seemed like the Aussies were making a comeback into match, skipper Ajinkya Rahane pulled off a stunner at first slip to get rid of Peter Hanscomb – the architect of Australia’s survival in Ranchi.
The middle-order batsman was dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin. Handscomb was playing for spin while the ball held its line and went straight inducing an outside edge of the bat which flew off to the first slip.
India’s best slip fielder, Rahane, had very little time to react, but he lifted his hands and plucked out a stunner to end the partnership and make another inroad into the Australian batting line-up.
