Mumbai: England Test skipper Alastair Cook recently broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record being the youngest to score more than 10,000 runs in Tests. He is the 12th batsman in the elite list; post his exploits, experts delved into statistics to figure out whether the southpaw can break more records of the batting maestro.

Half-centuries in whites: Tendulkar holds the record for most 50+ scores in Tests (119) which includes 68 half-centuries and 51 centuries. Cook is far away from the centuries but close to the fifties at 48.

Most runs: Tendulkar’s numbers (15,921) is the biggest record ever but Cook averages 46 and England plays more Tests than any other team. Cook is slowly catching up at 10, 176 runs.

Most Tests: Tendulkar played 200 Tests while the 31-year-old is at 129; given the amount of Test cricket in England, it will not be a surprise if he gets to the 200-Test mark.
