Gautam Gambhir to replace KL Rahul for second Test against NZ?

Mumbai: Sidelined Indian opener Gautam Gambhir is on verge of making a comeback to the Indian Test team. Gambhir could replace injured KL Rahul for the second Test against New Zealand.
According to reports, India coach Anil Kumble has asked for Gambhir as a replacement for the in-form Rahul, who suffered a hamstring injury during India's first Test match at Kanpur.
Gambhir has not played for India since 2014, he last featured for India in the 2014 tour of England. The Delhi batsman has 4046 runs to his name in 56 Tests.
The southpaw has been in a brilliant form in India’s domestic circuit. Gambhir led India Blue to the title in the recently held Duleep Trophy. The opener scored an impressive 356 runs in five innings.
India is scheduled to play the second Test match of the three-match series against New Zealand at the Eden Gardens from September 30.
