Watch: Ravindra Jadeja surprises one and all with mystery ball

Mohali: India spinner Ravindra Jadeja often manages to bamboozle batsmen with his wily deliveries. However, during the first day of the third Test in Mohali, Jadeja sent in a ball that baffled one and all – even wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel.

As England batsman Jonny Bairstow took his guard to face the third delivery of the 77th over, the ball seemed to slip away from Jadeja’s fingers, as it rolled wide of the pitch and into a baffled Patel’s gloves.

While we all wondered how a Test bowler could bowl such a ball, commentators and ex-cricketers Sanjay Manjrekar and Ian Botham believe that it was because Jadeja was trying to bowl a different variation, that the ball slipped out of his finger. They even suggested that Jadeja may have even been trying a mystery ball.
