KL Rahul slams a fan on Twitter after defeat against Australia in Pune
KL Rahul, who has an average of 38.9 in the ongoing home Test season, came under a bit of criticism from a fan.
Mumbai: KL Rahul has had a bittersweet season so far, but the India opener does not back down from giving someone a piece of his mind.
In a recent event, a jovial Rahul shared with his followers on Twitter, that his teammate and star India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has followed him on the micro-blogging site.
While this is nothing surprising, considering the fact that Rahul is now a first team regular with Team India, the 24-year-old was, in all probabilities, just having some fun.
However, not everyone took this in the right manner. Rahul, who has an average of 38.9 in the ongoing home Test season, came under a bit of criticism from a fan, who sarcastically asked him to find ways to score more runs.
“Leave all this,” the fan told Rahul on Twitter. “Try finding ways of scoring runs.”
However, Rahul, who was the highest scorer in the Pune Test against Australia (which India lost by 333 runs), had a fitting reply for the fan.
“Please come and teach us bhai,” Rahul sarcastically. “I’m sure you know how to score runs.”
While India have had a brilliant home season so far, their dream run of 19 unbeaten Tests came to an end with a crushing defeat against Australia on a Pune pitch, where the home side were expected to excel by a huge margin.
Also, Rahul has come in for some criticism despite being India’s highest scorer in the Test match, as the Karnataka batsman threw away his wicket cheaply in the first innings, at a time when India needed him to build a steady partnership with Ajinkya Rahane. His wicket subsequently triggered a batitng collapse, as India were skittled-out for 105 in the first innings.
