Team India take it very well and give it back even better: Virat Kohli on sledging
Virat Kohli believes that the 2-1 Series win against Australia was the current Indian cricket team's 'best series win so far'.
Dharamsala: Virat Kohli said after his side’s 2-1 series win against Australia, that his side is going to sledge back if the opposition side tries to get under their skin.
India clinched the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Tuesday, after defeating Australia by eight wickets in the Dharamsala Test.

"Regardless of whether we are on top or not, we speak, if something pokes us we speak and give it right back. All people don't digest it well but we take it very well and we give it back even better," Kohli said to former India captain Ravi Shastri, in an interview with broadcasters Star Sports, on Tuesday.
"Some people want to create some spice sitting at some part of the world. They don't confront such situations themselves. The easiest thing to do is to just sit at home and write a blog or speak on Mic but to go out there and bowl and bat is different," he said.
However, the India skipper lauded Australia for the tough fight that they gave India during the four-match Test series.
The India skipper even went on to state that the 2-1 Series win against Australia was the current Team India’s “best series win so far”.
"Unbelievable. This is our best series win so far. I thought England was intense, but the way Australia gave us a fight,” said Kohli during the post match presentation ceremony. “It was amazing on their part, but our guys kept bouncing back. Shows the character and maturity.”
Kohli also went on to praise India vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane for leading the side to the victory in Dharamsala, a win that clinched the series for the hosts. He said, “Ajinkya led the team really well.”
The 28-year-old also praised his team for keeping up their fitness levels, something that he believes, helped the Indian players last the duration of the lengthy 13-Test home season.
“The changes we made in our fitness regime have paid off. Guys have been able to sustain the performance throughout the season,” he said. “In the past we have had sessions where we have given away the game easily. Not this season. Been a team season. Not one or two individuals who have stood out.”
Kohli had to sit out of the Dharamsala Test due to a shoulder injury, which he had suffered while fielding during the third Test in Ranchi. When asked about whether he was back to full fitness, Kohli said, “Still a few weeks to go till I can be 100% on the field. You have to take it in your stride and move forward."
