RCB fans share their plans for final match
RCB will go all guns blaring in the much-awaited finals at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in the city on Sunday.
Gone are the days when fans had to go to the stadium to be a part of the excitement and madness of cricket. The youth of today have no patience for picking up tickets from long winding queues and over priced food at the stadiums. Instead, they have found an alternative to watching the match and hatke ways to support the team, all in the luxury of their own homes!
Home screening parties have become hugely popular among the youth today. “The plan is to order in hoards of pizza, junk food and drinks and watch the match with around 20 people. I have also asked my friends to wear RCB jerseys and bring along whistles that we can blow when the players take a wicket or score boundaries. I’m also getting the cocktails in red and yellow in support of the team,” says Rahul Prasad, who is hosting a screening at his terrace on Sunday night.
With the home team playing exceptionally well and making it to the finals, people are going all out to show their loyalty and cheer for their favourite team! “I’m hosting an RCB themed screening and an after party, whether the team wins or not. The dress code is obviously red and gold. I’m also getting a couple of red afro wigs and RCB flags to put up and decorate the place with” says Naveen Singh, an ardent cricket fan.
While not all people go all out to support their favourite team, for Lakshmi Narayan, it’s different. “I love going to the stadium to watch the match but getting tickets is a huge task. Since I’m a great cook, I plan on going all out and making the food items in red and yellow. It might be a little crazy, but I’m also insisting that we all paint the RCB flag on our faces as a part of the Bold Army” says the hotel management student and cricket fan in the city.
