Hyderabad: Akash Bhandari and Gaurav Tandon came up with brilliant spells of bowling to hog Thursday’s limelight in a practice match and the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s top division three-day league match respectively.

Hyderabad leg-spinner Akash proved a thorn in Vidarbha’s flesh. He created huge setbacks by picking six wickets and played a key role in restricting the latter to 167/9 as the match at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium at Uppal ended in a draw.

Akash bowled 28 overs and took six wickets while conceding 75 runs.
In a three-day league match, Jai Hanuman’s Gaurav Tandon took a five-wicket haul to throw the EMCC batting unit in disarray. Gaurav’s figures read 29-3-83-5 as Jai Hanuman wrapped their rivals for 280 even as Mickil Jaiswal scored 83.
Batting a second time, Jai Hanuman replied with 67/3 by close of play.

EMCC took three points from the drawn match, courtesy their first innings lead — Jai Hanuman had made just 174. They had to be content with just one point.
In another three-day match, AOC defeated Gemini Friends by 10 wickets. Gemini were bowled out for 136 and 236 in their two innings. AOC scored 299 in their first essay and made 74 for no loss in the second to emerge victorious and take home six points.
