How Imran Khan, the PM will affect Pakistan Cricket Board and its chief Najam Sethi?
Sethi was also the interim Chief Minister of Pakistan's Punjab from March to June 2013.
Karachi: Former cricketer Imran Khan’s close aide Zulfi Bukhari on Friday was of the opinion that current Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi should step down from his post.
Imran, the current chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is on the verge of becoming Pakistan’s new Prime Minister, and Bukhari lauded the former captain’s cricket knowledge.
“The job should be given on merit. If I were him, I would have already resigned,” Bukhari was quoted saying by Samaa TV.
“Nobody could match Imran Khan’s cricket knowledge,” he added.
Post the results of the 2013 general elections, the 65-year-old Imran had stated that Sethi had rigged the results of 35 constituencies. Sethi was the interim Chief Minister of Pakistan’s Punjab from March to June 2013.
“Punjab has always been the focus of all the political parties but the PTI would focus on every part of Pakistan,” he continued.
Bukhari also went onto claim that Imran’s ex-wife Reham Khan had tried to spoil PTI’s election campaign, but said that the voters prevented the attempt.
“Shehbaz Sharif, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz were behind Rehman Khan’s campaign. It was a funded campaign,” he said.
