Watch: When Sunil Gavaskar predicted Imran Khan could be Pakistan PM

Mumbai: Wishes have started pouring for Cricket World Cup-winning captain Imran Khan as he is set to become the new Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Imran, the chief of Pakistan Tehreek –e-Insaf , has been backed by some of his former teammates including Wasim Akram and Shahid Afridi.

In a video which has gone viral, Former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar had in 2012 predicted that the 65-year-old would become the future PM of Pakistan.

During an Asia Cup match between India and Bangladesh, where Sachin Tendulkar scored his 100th century, Gavaskar had noted that Imran “could be the next Prime Minister of Pakistan”.

India, however, went onto lose the game by five wickets.

Imran Khan led the Men in Green to global glory in 1992, when they lifted the only 50-over World Cup trophy till date. They had beaten England in the final.
