It's time for him to deliver and justify his India selection: Siddarth Kaul's mother
Siddath was a part of the Virat Kohli-led India U-19 side which won the ICC U-19 World Cup in 2007.
Mumbai: Tej Kaul, the former trainer of the Indian team at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), had no words to express his joy on the selection of his younger son Siddarth in the ODI squad against the touring Sri Lankan side.
"I was waiting for this day for a long time and it is very hard to express in words the feelings,” he said.
Siddarth's elder brother Uday is also a first-class cricketer and mother (Sanja) is a senior domestic gym champion.
"In the earlier years, when we both were working, we had to keep Siddarth in a cage so that while crawling he does not go here and there," the father recalled.
"My both sons have justified their father's faith and now it is time for Siddarth to deliver and justify his India selection. There has been no competition between the two. Uday is also a class player and we don't know what is there in his destiny. God knows he may also get a chance one day to represent India," Sanja Kaul, mother of Siddarth and Uday, said.
Recalling Siddarth's childhood days, the mother said, "He had a habit of copying the bowling action of several bowlers and we used to tell him don't copy all bowlers, concentrate only on one bowler. Otherwise you will not become a cricketer. He has proved us wrong and we are all very happy for it," the mother signed off.
