Australia tour of India could get very messy: Tom Moody
The Virat Kohli-led team beat England 4-0 in the recently concluded five-match Test series.
Mumbai: India have been in imperious form this home season, having been unbeaten in the last 18 Tests. The Virat Kohli-led team beat England 4-0 in the recently concluded five-match Test series.
Australia are scheduled to visit India in February for a four-match Test series and former Australia cricketer Tom Moody is not very optimistic about the upcoming series.
"I think the Australia team has a lot of areas it needs to continue to develop. I will be holding my breath when this team jumps on the big bird and heads to India. It's going to be messy, very messy," Moody said on Macquarie Radio.
The former all-rounder also issued a warning to Aussie batsman as they prepare to face the Indian spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.
Speaking to Fairfax Media, Moody said: "Not only Australia, England have just experienced it – it's a very, very difficult place to win. I think Australia, in the position it is now, reinventing itself as a Test side, are going to go there with a huge mountain to climb. India have endless batsmen that can pile on runs and they have got two spinners that do it better than anyone else in the world in those conditions," he said.
Australia beat India 2-0 in the last series played between the two nations Down Under in 2014. However, they were whitewashed 4-0 by the Indian team in the last series played in subcontinent.
