Bengaluru: Despite Virat Kohli’s men succumbing to a loss against Australia in the 4th ODI against on Thursday, the Indian batt shone once again.

At the forefront of the Indian attack were openers Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma, who got the Men in Blue off to a flyer once again with an opening stand of 106 runs.

The Mumbai Indians skipper dealt a minor knock on the head but was saved by the helmet he was wearing during the 16th over of the innings.

Part-time spinner Travis Head was bowling at the other end when Rohit Sharma flicked a single towards long on. Aussie wicketkeeper Matthew Wade collected the ball, but his throw to Head fell short and landed straight on the Rohit at the non-striker's end.

Wade seriously apologised to Rohit, but the Indian batsman shrugged off the incident with a broad smile on his face.

Both Rohit and Rahane struck crucial half-centuries that brought up 100 runs in no time for the hosts. However, after Rahane’s dismissal, the Australians struck once again by sending Rohit and Virat Kohli back to the pavilion.

Hardik Pandya and Kedar Jadhav resolved India’s chase, but failed to steer the team to the finish line as the Australian bowlers ran riot.
