Watch: MS Dhoni cheerfully cajoles Jasprit Bumrah post Tom Latham's dismissal
The duo produced a moment of magic to help India win the series-decider against New Zealand.
Kanpur: There’s always a moment of magic when MS Dhoni is behind the stumps. Despite his growing age, the veteran wicket-keeper’s ability to whip bails in a flash or the ability to dive in for difficult catches hasn’t changed much.
He displayed that again in a must-win 3rd ODI against New Zealand, playing a huge part in the dismissal of the dangerous Tom Latham.
Chasing a mammoth 337 posted by the Men in Blue, the Kiwis made light work of the chase, led by dangerman Latham, who was firing on all cylinders. With 35 runs required in the last 4 overs, Kane Williamson’s side looked favourites before the combination of Jasprit Bumrah and MS Dhoni turned the tide in India’s favour.
Colin de Grandhomme was at the striker's end during the 48th over and was aiming to get Latham on strike. Bumrah floored him with a yorker through the legs and the two batsmen called for a run.
Collecting the ball from behind the stumps, MS Dhoni soon threw the ball to Bumrah, who took a direct hit at the stumps. Latham wasn’t even in the picture and had to depart after a well made 62 off 53 balls.
Bumrah had all the time in the world to run towards the stumps and whip the bails. However, the youngster chose not to take that option and opted for a direct hit, catching Latham short. The run-out triggered an epic reaction from the former India skipper:

The Men in Blue eventually held their nerves and registered a six-run victory to clinch their seventh consecutive bilateral ODI series.
This is not the first time Dhoni and Bumrah have produced something like this. The duo were previously involved in a similar dismissal during England's tour of India earlier this year.
