Mohali: India have already attained an unassailable 2-0 lead in the five-match Test series against England, but former skipper Sourav Ganguly believes that Virat Kohli and co. have the capability to dish out a 4-0 drubbing to the Three Lions.

The Indian juggernaut is already on a mammoth 16-match unbeaten run in the longer version of the game. With the national team set to play seven more Tests during the season, there is a very good chance that they may go on to create history.

The longest unbeaten streak by an Indian Test side is that of 20 matches, which was achieved by Sunil Gavaskar and co, in 1977-80.

Ganguly believes that the current Indian team can hand a 4-0 drubbing to England.

“India will not look back – they are 2-0 up and are on their way to probably 4-0,” Ganguly told India Today. “India have really comeback well after the (drawn) first Test. They are going to put pressure on England in the next two Test matches as well.”

However, the 44-year-old believes that Mumbai and Chennai, where the last two Tests will be played, present England with their best opportunity to get back into the series.

“Mumbai and Chennai are probably England's better chances (to win) than Vizag and Mohali because of bounce,” said Ganguly. “It may spin but with bounce it might help the way England play.

“But they will have to really, really play well to beat India and most importantly England are really behind in the spin department,” he continued.

The former India captain, who led the national side to the 2003 World Cup final, also questioned the potency of the England bowling attack.

“The question is, do Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali have it in them to pick 20 (Indian) wickets? I don't think their fast bowlers will be able to pick 20 wickets and win a Test match,” he said.
