ICC World Cup 2019: WI vs PAK: West Indies thrash Pakistan by seven wickets
West Indies 108/3; Nicholas Pooran 34(19) Shimron Hetmyer 7(8); Mohammad Amir 3/26
Mumbai: Two unpredictable sides-- West Indies and Pakistan will clash against each other in the match two of ICC World Cup 2019.
One advantage that Pakistan team has over other teams is that it has already got acquainted with the English conditions. The Men in Green have already played an ODI series against World Cup hosts-- England. However, Pakistan would be hoping to retaliate after getting humiliated in the ODI series.
The series against England showed that Pakistan doesn’t have any problem with their batting order. The only missing thing in their puzzle was their bowling attack.
Their bowling line-up was incapable of scalping wickets at regular intervals.
Pakistan's weakness was exploited in their recent warm-up match against Afghanistan.
Afghanistan easily chased down an easy target of 262 as Pakistani bowlers couldn’t hold a stringent Afghanistan batting line-up. Nevertheless, it will be intriguing to watch if the Pakistani team can keep its nerves cool and calm at World Cup 2019. Also, pundits have placed their bets on Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz to perform in the English conditions.
On the other hand, the West Indies cricket team has been struggling to progress beyond the quarter-finals since 2007. But the Caribbean side has not failed to produce aggressive batsmen.
West Indies would be hoping to capitalize on the form of game-changers like Andre Russell, Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard. The West Indies side will be led by Jason Holder in the mega-event, and the players would be hoping to edge towards the glory days of West Indies.
Toss: West Indies won the toss and have elected to field.
