Fans braving rain thronged Mumbai streets on Thursday to take part in Team India's victory parade to celebrate their win at the T20 World Cup after 17 years.

The marine drive area, Church gate station, Nariman point and the Wankhede Stadium turned blue ahead of the procession. The Church gate station of the Mumbai Suburban Railway echoed with chants of "Mumbai cha raja Rohit Sharma."

Buses, trains and roads were seen filled with people in team India jerseys from as soon as 2 pm on Thursday, claimed reports.
Officials have earlier said that a tight security was set in place for the parade that will start at 5 pm from Nariman point to reach Wankede stadium at 7 pm.
Meanwhile, a picture of the open top bus, which is to be used by team India during the parade, was going viral on social media. The bus in blue with a picture of the Indian team after the finals was taken for a run in Mumbai.
