He hasn’t been in Chicago long but Bastian Schweinsteiger has already begun house-hunting following his move from Manchester United to the MLS. Schweinsteiger, who has just signed for Chicago Fire, and his wife Ana Ivanovic, the former tennis star, were joined by their parents as the duo look to settle in quickly in America.

The German midfielder and Ivanovic were smartly dressed as they looked round the local houses in the gloomy conditions in Chicago.  The 32-year-old brought to an end his 18-month spell at United last week, agreeing on a free transfer with Chicago on a one-year deal worth £3.5million.

Schweinsteiger revealed he did not have the chance to say a ‘proper’ goodbye to his United team-mates before leaving for Chicago Fire. He also took to viewing NBA action with Ivanovic and was pictured courtside at the United Center.   The couple appeared in high spirits as they watched Chicago Bulls face Cleveland Cavaliers.
