Sergio Romero splurges on Lamborghini

Sergio Romero is no longer the star in a reasonably priced car after he upgraded his humble £20,000 Fiat to a £170,000 Lamborghini. The Manchester United goalkeeper, who turned 30 last month, was pictured arriving in his Fiat 500 Abarth last month before his side won the EFL Cup last weekend. Following their stunning win over Southampton at Wembley, it seems Romero — who didn’t play on Sunday —has benefited from the success by purchasing a new car. Romero arrived at the Premier League club’s Carrington training base on Thursday driving his Lamborghini Gallardo.
Although the 30-year-old ditched his modest Fiat, he opted to keep with the white colour theme for his latest buy. The Argentina international appears to be somewhat of a petrol head having previously been pictured driving an all-white Audi. Romero, the former Monaco and Sampdoria stopper, now joins the rest of the star-studded United squad who boast impressive supercars.
Among the players who also arrived at the club’s state-of-the-art training complex in an expensive car were Phil Jones and Chris Smalling. England defender Smalling was pictured in his recently-purchased grey Ferrari while fellow centre back Jones drove a Bentley.
