Mumbai: FC Barcelona are well known for their philosophy of playing football beautifully. Some of the most elegant players in the history of football – Johan Cruyff, Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, and many others – have donned their Catalan side’s jersey.

These great players have scored many a great goals for the Spanish giants. Now, the club seem to have come up with one such player for their women’s team.

Forward Barbara Latorre showcased her immaculate ball control and skills to the rest of the footballing world, when she scored a goal that would have made the likes of Maradona and Messi proud.

The 23-year-old went past six Espanyol women’s team defenders, as she covered a little more than half the length of the pitch, on her way to score the magnificent goal.

She masterfully received the ball and jinked past a defender who came sliding in, and went on to speed past three other defenders from the left flank. Latorre was tackled and brought down just outside the penalty box, as she cut inside.

This in itself would have given Barcelona a free kick in a dangerous position. However, the 23-year-old used all her determination to get back to her feet, jinked past another defender and coolly slotted it past a flailing Espanyol goalkeeper, as the ball curled in off the far post.

Here is a video of the goal.
