Mumbai: Goals from Andre de Jong and Moses Dyer gave New Zealand their second win of the Intercontinental Cup tournament as hosts India were habde their firrst loss.

The first half of the game had enough action despite being goalless as the crowd turned out in large numbers once again.

The closest the hosts got to in the first half was when star man Sunil Chhetri came close and hit the crossbar, but being denied a breakthrough.
Earlier, New Zealand's Jai Inham and India's Narayan Das were given yellow cards for  a foul.

In the second half, it was Jeje Lalpekhlua, playing his 50th match for India, who was substituted for Balwant Singh.

Soon after, Chhetri provided the crucial breakthrough for the hosts as he found the net in the 46th minute. However, the hosts' lead was short-lived as Andre de Jong scored the equaliser in the 49th minute off Sarpreet Singh's assist.

For goalkeeper Amarinder Singh, it was an easy chance prevent the ball from heading into the nets, but  that was denied as de Jong made the goal look easy.

With the match inching towards a thriller, all hopes were not lost for the hosts until Moses Dyyer gave New Zealand the lead for the first time in the match, thereby ending the hosts' two-match unbeaten run.
