Bengaluru FC face in form Jamshedpur FC

Mid-fielder Dimas Delgado who missed the first game due to an injury is back and is expected to start against Jamshedpur.

Bengalurus defensive errors could not be capitalized on by Chennai last week and coach Carles Cuadrat will want to sort out his defensive backline against Jamshedpur.

Bengaluru: Its early days in the Indian Super League, but Bengaluru FC will look to maintain their winning momentum when they face an in form team in Jamshedpur FC at the Kanteereva stadium on Sunday. Both teams are coming off with wins from the opening weekend with Jamshedpur FC trouncing Mumbai City FC away and Bengaluru FC seeing off Chennayin FC. 

Bengalurus defensive errors could not be capitalized on by Chennai last week and coach Carles Cuadrat will want to sort out his defensive backline against Jamshedpur. The Cesar Ferrando coached outfit has a reputation that is known for its defence and once again Miku will be the focal point of attack for Bengaluru to find the gaps in the well drilled defensive outfit.

Mid-fielder Dimas Delgado who missed the first game due to an injury is back and is expected to start against Jamshedpur. BFC coach Cuadrat expressed his pleasure with Delgado available for this fixture. “The good news is that Dimas is back, he has recovered well and we are happy to be able to have him as an option in midfield”, he said. On the game plan against Jamshedpur, Cuadrat spoke on utilizing their sides set-piece capabilities. 

“We saw last week that they were good against Mumbai when they have the ball. They can construct good offensive attacks. Our plan will be to be competitive and to keep the ball and utilize our strikers. You saw in the second half (against Chennaiyin FC) the other day, how many chances we had”. 

This match also happens to be the game where Tim Cahill will make his ISL debut  at the age of 38. The Aussie striker who has played in the top flight of English football will want to prove that age is just a number in sport and lead from the front. 

Coach Ferrando in his pre match press conference all but confirmed that Cahill is set to start tomorrow. “He is very important for us and is going to play tomorrow, and he is a big help for the Indian players”, he said.
