Mumbai: After yesterday’s 4-1 win over the Faroe Islands, Spain captain Sergio Ramos stands as the player with the most international wins, which was previously held by another Spanish legend Iker Casillas.

Ramos was also one of the goalscorers in the win over the Faroe Islands, opening the scoring with a fifth-minute header. Ramos now has 122 wins with the national team in 164 caps and has scored 19 goals so far.

With Casillas being dropped in favour of David de Gea for the national team, Ramos will be holding on to the record for a long time as the next player with most wins, Portugal’s 34-year old Cristiano Ronaldo still stands far behind at 92 wins.

Following the win, Spain leads Group F in the UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifiers.
