But the in-form striker gave them an uncomfortable reminder of just how close he keeps his former club to his heart when he posted a picture of himself and Diego Simeone enjoying dinner in the Spanish capital.
Costa is currently in Spain ahead of his adopted country’s World Cup qualifier against Macedonia and took advantage of the situation to catch up with his former mentor.
