Bengaluru: Following a well contested league match on Saturday, Bengaluru FC and Mohun Bagan will go head to head once again on Tuesday when the duo face each other in their opening AFC Cup Group E tie at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium.

And Bagan full back Pritam Kotal revealed starting that tournament on a good note will be of utmost priority.

“We want to start on a good note and we’re working towards that. Yes, it’s the same team that we played (on Saturday). But that’s the past. We need to start afresh. It’s a new tournament and this will be our first game,” said Kotal.

“I don’t see any change in our approach. We go out there to win every game and we will maintain that. We play to win,” he added.

He also added that the change in the format of the tournament, whereby only one team from the Southern group goes through, hasn’t added any extra pressure to deliver.

“I believe, if a player in under pressure he can’t deliver, and the team knows that. Yes, it’s close since just one team will qualify. We need to play to our potential and try to get the best possible result from the tie. We were in the AFC Cup last season too. And this time the aim is to better what we achieved last year,” he remarked adding that the team is equally focused in their aim to win the I-League title as well.
