Thrissur: CSM Edassery won the Thrissur Sahodaya Football Tournament held at Salsabeel Central School, Mundur. It defeated Little Flower Public School, Muringoor in the finals held here on Tuesday morning. Ansar English School, Perumpilavu became the third best team in the tourney by winning the losers’ final. The winners were presented trophies by Sahodaya Treasurer Dr. Dinesh Babu and Salsabeel Central School Academic Chairman Abdul Kareem. The valedictory function was presided over by Sahodaya Vice-President T.K. Unnikrishnan. Sevens Football Association State President K.M. Lenin, Sahodaya Vice-President Fr. Shaju Edamana, Sahodaya Joint Sercretary Kalyani Balakrishna, Salsabeel School Principal C.A. Francis, Administrator.

M.C. Sasidharan and Vice-Principal Stanley George spoke on the occasion.
In the five-day tournament, Mohammed Anan Fisal of Ansar English School, Perumbilavu won the best all rounder prize.  The trophy for the best defender went to Muhammed C.S. of CSM Central School, Edassery. The best striker award was won by Kismatkhan of MES Public School, Kodungallur. The top scorer in the event was Rithin of Ansar English School, Perumpilavu. The best goal-keeper prize went to Anand  G. of Little Flower Public School, Muringoor. 848 Football Stars from 53 CBSE Schools of Thrissur District, participated in the mega event.
