Mumbai: Brazil star Ronaldino, who played for Goa in the inaugural Premier Futsal, had to leave midway after being chosen as the ambassador of the 2016 Paralympics. The footballer expressed his regret for not completing the season.

He requested the organisers to let him free so that he can fulfil his duties in the mega event in Brazil.

The Premier Futsal management considered his proposal as the footballer is likely to be associated with the league for a long term.

The league fans are disappointed at his sudden departure but his replacement will definitely put the smile back on their faces.

Selecao legend Cafu has been roped in as his substitute for the remainder of the league.

The league may reschedule a few games for Cafu’s delayed arrival.

On the other hand, Ronaldinho sent an official statement for his fans in India before leaving.

“I would like to thank all the people involved with Premier Futsal. It has been a pleasure to be with you all. I thank you all for all the love and support I'm leaving with. Best of luck,” he said.
