Cristiano Ronaldo searches for lady who helped him when he used to beg for burgers

Mumbai: Most people don’t know that Cristiano Ronaldo, who is now one of the most famous and richest sportsmen in the world, comes from a very humble background. In an interview with British broadcaster, Piers Morgan, he revealed that when he was a kid in Lisbon, he and his friends used to beg for burgers at the McDonald’s next to the stadium.

He revealed that a lady named Edna used to feed them the burgers. He expressed his wish to invite them for a dinner with him in Lisbon and Turin.

He said, “We were a little hungry. We had a McDonald's next to the stadium; we knocked on the door and asked have you got any burgers. There was always Edna and two other girls. I never found them again.”

He added, “I asked people in Portugal, they closed the McDonalds, but if this interview can help find them, I would be so happy. I want to invite them to Turin or Lisbon to come to have dinner with me because I want to give something back."

As luck would have it, after the interview, Piers Morgan revealed that they may have found Edna.

ESPN later revealed on Twitter that one of the women who fed Cristiano when he was a kid has come forward and is ready to accept his dinner invitation.
