FC Barcelona's Twitter account hacked, announce signing of Angel Di Maria from PSG
The hackers sent the Cules into a frenzy by tweeting the club had signed former Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria.
Barcelona: Fortunes have not been good for FC Barcelona in the last few weeks. After being thrashed easily by arch-rivals Real Madrid in both the legs of the Spanish Super Cup and losing star player Neymar for a club-record fee to Paris Saint-Germain following which the Catalan club filed a lawsuit against the Brazilian, the club faced embarrassment once again on Wednesday morning as a hacker gained unauthorised access to their Twitter handle.
The hacker by the name OurMine.com, caused a stir among the Blaugrana faithful by announcing the club had signed former Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria from Paris Saint-Germain.
Followed by a series of tweets, later on, the hacker trolled Barcelona’s Twitter followers by stating it was all a hoax and set the hashtag #FCBHack trending on social media.
OurMine, a Saudi Arabian group has a history of hacking popular social media accounts in the past. The Facebook account of CNN, Twitter accounts of Netflix, Marvel and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg have fallen prey to the hacker.
