Fantasy Premier League: 5 bargain players you must have for Gameweek 3

Mumbai: We are still into the early weeks of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL), but there are many bargain options that may have been overlooked for their fancier counterparts. 

Before we head into the international break, Gameweek 3 comprises of many interesting fixtures where FPL managers may not be looking towards too many substitutions.  

However, if you’re looking to consider some reasonable options for your wildcard or making a few changes, FPL managers should have an eye on the bargain options below. 

Goalkeepers: 

Jonas Lossl (Huddersfield Town) - £4.5m

The Huddersfield shot-stopper is the top scoring goalkeeper right now and has emerged as a hot option considering his £4.5m price tag. 

David Wagner’s men are yet to concede a goal in their campaign and if they manage to do it again, this week against Southampton, (who have a miserable goal-scoring record at home) Lossl could be at the forefront of some vital bonus points. 

The Danish goalkeeper is owned by only 5% of FPL managers, and hence stands apart from the crowd.

Fraser Forster (Southampton) - £5m, Rob Elliot (Newcastle) -£4m, Joe Hart (West Ham) - £4.5m

Defenders: 

Ahmed Hegazi (West Brom) - £4.7m

The Egyptian has taken no time to shimmer, keeping 2 clean sheets and scoring a goal in Gameweek 1 that has made him the leading FPL defender with 23 points. 

His price might be up to £4.7m but he’s the cheapest route to Tony Pulis’ defence who take on Stoke, Brighton and West Ham next.

Mathias Zanka Jorgensen (Huddersfield Town) - £4.5m, Chancel Mbemba (Newcastle) - £4m, Miguel Britos (Watford) - £4.5m

Midfielders: 

Richarlison (Watford) - £6m

Watford’s Richarlison is already giving the FPL managers some food for thought, making an impression straight away in the Premier League with a goal and an assist. 

Although Richarlison is listed as a midfielder, the Brazilian plays high up the pitch (like Joshua King did for Bournemouth last season) and is likely to be among the goals for the Hornets.

His impressive stats don't lie either. Richarlison had six shots on target in Gameweek 2, more than any other midfielder and was bettered only by Tottenham forward Harry Kane.

Aaron Mooy (Huddersfield Town) - £5.6m, Dusan Tadic (Southampton) - £6.5m, Matt Phillips (West Brom) - £6.0m

Forwards: 

Chicharito (West Ham United) - £7m

Devoid of service in the Premier League opener against former team Manchester United, Javier Hernandez made up for his feeble display with a brace in the following Gameweek, away at St. Mary’s. 

The Mexican striker is already a proven Premier League goalscorer and can guarantee you points with his lethal poaching inside the box. 

The Hammers have a favourable 3 fixtures coming up against a goalless Newcastle United, followed by Huddersfield and West Bromwich Albion. And at just at £7m, the Mexican seems worth the punt for your forward line.

Steve Mounie (Huddersfield Town) - £6m, Wayne Rooney (Everton) - £7m, Roberto Firmino (Liverpool) - £8.5m

Oh captain, my captain! 

Christian Eriksen (Tottenham Hotspur) - £9.6m

Tottenham Hotspur’s playmaker-in-chief Christian Eriksen is a must-have for Gameweek 3 as the Lilywhites host Burnley. 

Eriksen has been involved in all of Spurs’ goals so far and has won the faith of FPL managers with 5 bonus points. With the August curse continuing to haunt Harry Kane and Dele Alli failing to hit top gear, the Dane will shoulder the responsibility of leading the side and is in charge of set pieces for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
