Indian Super League: FC Pune City announce Bollywood star Arjun Kapoor as co-owner
FC Pune City will face off with Delhi Dynamos at home in their first match on November 22.
Mumbai: Indian Super League side FC Pune City announced Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor as their new co-owner at an event held here on Thursday.
Gracing on the occasion, Arjun spoke on his new experience.
“I feel very humble and happy to be a part of FC Pune City. I was a very excited person when the league came to India, with the stature of players, the infrastructure coming in. For me, the excitement has always been to connect with the correct people,” he said.
“I love football and have grown up watching and playing the sport. I still actively play football with my friends, who are also co-owners at various clubs in the ISL," he added.
The Maharashtra franchise’s CEO Gaurav Modwel also spoke on the association with the Bollywood star.
“FC Pune City welcomes Arjun Kapoor as the co-owner of the club. Arjun is not only a youth icon but also a footballer at heart. His passion for the sport is well known and he is a very astute observer of the game,” he said.
The four-month long Indian Super League season, consisting of 10 teams, will kick off on November 17 with a match between defending champions ATK and Kerala Blasters. FC Pune City will face off with Delhi Dynamos at home on November 22. The final of the tournament will be played in March.
