Football fraternity distraught after Lionel Messi retires
Many hope Messi's announcement are just his emotions talking and pray he makes his comeback soon.
East Rutherford (United States): A very distraught Lionel Messi announced his retirement after Argentina lost the Copa America final to Chile on penalties. Messi, who is regarded as one of the greatest players to have ever graced the green turf, suffered another shock when he missed his first penalty in his Argentina career during the summit clash. The loss to Chile was a repeat of last year’s final.
Argentina’s top goal scorer with 55 goals, at 29 Messi’s retirement has sent shockwaves across the footballing world. Many hope this announcement are just his emotions talking and pray he makes his comeback soon.
Hard to know if Messi is being serious about retirement or just emotional right now. Argentine federation is a disaster at the moment.

Interesting to note that right around same time Messi was saying he's done w/Argentina, Chile coach Pizzi was calling him best of all time
