London: It was a day of drama and suspense on the Transfer Deadline Day as the January transfer window officially closed. While Pierre Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund, Mesut Ozil signed a new contract at Arsenal.

Juan Mata extends his Manchester United contract:

Meanwhile, Spanish midfielder Juan Mata have agreed to stay at Premier League giants Manchester United until June 2019.

League 2 side Lutron Town have completed the signing of Liverpool youngster Lloyd Jones on an undisclosed fee.

Rumour mills surrounding Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future at Manchester United are growing as time passes by. French sports daily L'Equipe claim the 36-old-old signed a deal with MLS club LA Galaxy three weeks ago, but head coach Sigi Schmid has stayed tightly lipped about a move for the Swede: “There’s been a lot of talk about it in the past and it’s something that maybe gets opened up again. I don’t know what’s there. If there was something there, I’m sure we’d all know. Right now, it’s all rumours.”

The report further states that Zlatan will complete his rehabilitation with Jose Mourinho’s side before flying to California. Mourinho has previously made it clear he will not stop Zlatan if he wishes to move abroad.

Borussia Dortmund reportedly agree Batshuayi loan deal:

Out-of-favour Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has reportedly agreed a loan deal with Borussia Dortmund after failing to find regular playing time. The Bundesliga giants were only willing to sell Aubameyang upon finding a replacement and now this could speed up the Gabon striker's move to London.

Batshauyi departure could see the Blues make way for Olivier Giroud.

With Emerson Palmieri having joined Chelsea from AS Roma on Tuesday, the Serie A outfit are eyening the Manchester United left-back as the Brazilian's replacement, according to Sky Italia.

Did Arsene Wenger just leak Arsenal's completed move for Aubameyang?

On Wednesday, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger appeared to confirm that his side has completed a deal for Aubameyang after their 3-1 loss to Swansea at the Liberty Stadium.

“Yes, it is good news. We need people who can give us more offensive power. At the moment, we aren’t enough going forward and I am convinced he will give us that.  He has a big challenge in front of him. He wants to do well in the Premier League. It is absolutely good news for us. His pace, his finishing. The quality of his runs. His huge physical capacity, that will be important in the Premier League,” the Frenchman was quoted saying

City submit third bid for Mahrez:

Manchester City aren’t done with their January transfer business yet despite breaking the bank. The Citizens have made a third bid of around £55 million for Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez, who has been performing consistently for the foxes in the past couple of months.

The Algerian winger hasn’t travelled with Claude Puel’s squad for the away game at Everton on Thursday, according to Sky Sports.

The Foxes aren’t yet pleased with the offer from the Premier League leaders, eyeing £90 million.

It’s the last day of January and with that, it’s the last day for clubs to wrap up their deals the 2017-18 January transfer window nears an end.

Liverpool’s £75 million world-record signing of defender Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton made the headlines before Alexis Sanchez took over, making his way to Manchester United with out-of-favour midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving to Arsenal in a swap deal.

Van Dijk's massive signing also saw Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho complete his dream move to Barcelona.

Following Liverpool’s footsteps, Manchester City also broke the bank to sign Athletic Bilbao’s ball-playing centre-back Aymeric Laporte for a whopping £57 million, making him the 2nd most expensive defender in football history.

But that not it, bigger deals could surface on the market as the time starts ticking.

Borussia Dortmund’s want-away striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looks on course to join former teammate Mkhitaryan at Emirates for a hefty £60 million. Could this see Olivier Giroud move to the blue half of London, who seem to get rid of Michy Batshuayi – the Belgian being eyed as Aubameyang’s replacement for the Bundesliga giants?
