Indian Open: Hyderabad's on the cue
World's top snooker players to descend on city for Indian Open.
Hyderabad: All is set for the third edition of the Indian Open — a world ranking snooker championship — that gets underway at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre on July 4.
The week-long tournament will start with the six Indian wild cards playing the qualiying matches which will showcase defending champion Michael White playing the qualifiers along with Anthony Hamilton while Aditya Mehta will be playing Jimmy Robertson.
All matches upto the finals will be played in the best-of-seven frames format while the finals will be a best-of-nine affair. The Billiards and Snooker Federation of India are making all efforts to popularise cue sports and have roped in celebrities to kick off each session. All matches, to be played between 5 and 8 pm, would be live on Sony Six and HD channels.
