Hyderabad: Syed Ahmed, Vicky Agarwal battled hard to prove themselves on Tuesday in the Telangana Open Snooker Championship being played here.
It was a five frame thrilling contest between Ahmed and Ch. Mohan  as the former had to toil to beat out his rival with a 3-2 verdict.

The first frame was a nerve-wracking encounter as Mohan was the victor with a narrow margin of 1 points as the score read 59-58 in favpour of Mohan. But, the following two frames were won by Ahmed with the points noted 71-31, 68-28 respectively. Mohan not losing hopes gave it a hard try to sting back and level the frame wins apparently was succeeded in doing so as he took lead in the fourth frame 64-46.

Both the cueists were on toes but Syed got a little luckier to clinch the fifth frame 49-30 and further won the match.

In another match, Vicky Agarwal as he ousted Jumaan Khan with a 3-2 tally.
Vicky managed to win the second, third and the decider frames leaving behind Jumaan with only two frame victories.

At a point the scores were levelled 2-2 and then Vicky showed his mettle as he gave a befitting reply to Jumaan in the final frame to take a lead and win the match.
