Ashok Kumar to lead Telangana hockey side

Ashok will be assisted by vice-captain Mylaram Sampath Kumar at the Hockey India National Championships to be held from January 4 to 14 in Chennai.

Hyderabad: Ashok Kumar Ade will lead the Telangana hockey team that will participate in the 9th Hockey India Nationals to be held from January 4 to 14 in Chennai. Mylaram Sampath Kumar has been named vice-captain.

Telangana Hockey president Saral Talwar presented the players with kits as well as travelling sleeping bags in view of the extreme cold weather conditions.

Sports Authority of Telangana State vice-chairman and managing director A. Dinakar Babu, Dr Vijender Reddy, chairman of Vardhaman College of Engineering, and Telangana Hockey secretary and former Indian hockey captain and Padmashri awardee N. Mukesh Kumar were also present on the occasion.
