ISSF World Championship: Kynan Chenai finishes sixth at Shotgun Worlds

New Delhi: Kynan Chenai finished sixth in the finals of the men’s trap shooting competition at the ISSF World Championship Shotgun in Moscow on Sunday.

Italy’s Danielle Resca (43) won the gold medal. Rio Olympics silver medalist Edward Ling of Great Britain claimed the silver, shooting 40, while Jiri Liptak of the Czech Republic was third (33).
Team mate Zoravar Singh Sandhu shot rounds of 24 and 22 for a total of 118 to finish 26th. Birendeep Sodhi finished 61st with a total of 114 after rounds of 22 and 23.
In the men’s trap team event, India finished seventh out of 39 teams. They had a combined score of 353. Italy won the gold with 362 ahead of the Czech Republic (359) and Spain (357).
In the junior men’s trap, Lakshay Sheoran finished 15th while Akash Saharan was 18th. Manavaditya Singh Rathore was 25th among 49 shooters. The trio of Akash, Lakshay and Manavaditya finished sixth in the Team competition with a combined effort of 335.
