Gladiators trap Raiders
Leading the first half 16-10, Gadwal Gladiators made their intentions clear from the beginning and did not give an inch to the Ranga Reddy Raiders.
Gadwal Gladiators and Karimnagar Kings outclassed their respective rivals to clinch thumping wins in the ongoing Telangana Premier Kabaddi League being played at the Dr B. R. Ambedkar Indoor Stadium in Karimnagar.
Leading the first half 16-10, Gadwal Gladiators made their intentions clear from the beginning and did not give an inch to the Ranga Reddy Raiders.
In the second half, the Gladiators doubled their efforts and raided their opponent’s den with an aggressive approach to deny them an opportunity to make a comeback into the match. The final score read 40-27.
The Gladiators continued their dominance in the post match ceremony too as their P. Mallikarjun and S. Sree Krishna were adjudged as the Best Raider and Best Defender respectively.
The other match was a close battle between the Karimnagar Kings and Siddipet Stallions. However, the former had the last laugh as they clinched the match with the final scores reading as 32-23.
Earlier, the first half was a tight encounter which belonged to the Kings as they held a 11-8 advantage over the Stallions. However the Kings accelerated in top gear to leave the Stallions behind and win the match with a nine-point margin.
The second half saw both teams putting up good fights in their quest to win the match but it were the Kings who got the better of Stallions thanks to better execution of plans.
The winning team’s G. Mallesh earned the Best Raider award followed by B. Yakanna who was named the Best Defender for his brilliant defending skills throughout the match.
