Asian athletics kicks off at Kalinga Stadium

Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Wednesday  kept its tryst with sporting history as 22nd Asian Athletics Championship kicked off to a colourful start at the Kalinga Statidum.

Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the event as fireworks lit up the skyline, declaring the games open. Odia athlete Shrabani Nanda took the oath on behalf of athletes. As the chief minister addressed the participants saying “Hello Asia, Welcome to Bhubaneswar,” the crowd erupted with cheers.
