Una Healey is ditching the Saturdays and going solo. The star confirmed that after nearly a decade of chart success, the Irish star is going to be taking on the charts alone. Confirming the news via a Facebook chat with The Sun, the wife of rugby star Ben Foden said: “This is the big official announcement, I can finally start speaking about it. “I've been working behind the scenes, very quietly, and putting together my own solo album over the last two years.”
We won't have to wait long to hear the new music either, with Una continued: “The first single is out in the next few weeks and it is acoustic pop rock folk, with hints of country.” Answering a fan's question she said: “I don't miss being a Saturday because I'll always be a Saturday. We’ll be back together in the next couple of years hopefully. We will be back.” Una — who has reverted to her maiden name for the LP — teased the as yet untitled record has been “whittled it down to 12 (tracks) that I'm really happy with” and also revealed her two children were a great inspiration for the tracks.
