Inter School basketball tournament: Future kids battle into quarterfinals

Johnson CBSE boys team scored a hard fought 33-28 victory over CAL Public School in a Group ‘D’ round robin match to top their group and enter the knockout quarterfinal in the 2nd SRN Mudiraj Inter School basketball tournament being played in Hyderabad. The hosts led 15-14 at half time. Manjunath displayed fine anticipation and accurate shooting in notching up an individual tally of 18 points including a couple of three pointers while Aaron impressed with his score of 12 points.

Future Kids, the defending champions were also made to fight with St Peter’s Residential International School putting up a good show before going down 18-25. Vineeeth and Pranav played well for Future Kids while Akbar and Prasanth did their best for the losers. In other boys matches, MGM School Yousufguda, aided by Prashank and Sai Kiran, wore down St Patrick’s High School 30-21; Reqelford International School defeated CAL Public School 34-28; Jubilee Hills Public School beat St Patrick’s 24-18 and St Andrews got the better of Johnson Grammar School ICSE 30-18.

St Peter’s Residential International School, runner up last year in the girls section, defeated Johnson Grammar School CBSE 28-20 with Vijayasri top scoring with 16 and Priyanka scoring 8. For the losers, Urja scored 10 and Sahithi 8.
